The Welsh Government to host the next BIC Summit
The Welsh Government will host the next British-Irish Council (BIC) Summit Meeting early next week.
The meeting will be attended by leaders and Ministers from the eight BIC Member Administrations: The UK and Irish Governments, the devolved administrations of the Scottish and Welsh Governments and Northern Ireland Executive, the Government of the Isle of Man and the States of Jersey and Guernsey. It is the third time a British-Irish Council Summit has been held in Wales.
The Council will focus on Early Years Policy, which in recognition of its fundamental role in developing a child’s life chances, was adopted as a BIC topic in 2008. The Council will also consider the economic challenges facing Administrations and in particular consider the role of capital infrastructure development in supporting growth.
